Guzaarish - Bollywood Movie Guzaarish, Guzaarish in copyright row?

Apparently, a novelist, who goes by the name of Dayanand Raajan, has accused the writer of Guzaarish for lifting the theme of his new book for the plot of the movie. According to Raajan, Guzaarish's plot line and characters is similar to that of his yet-to-be published novel. Raajan is now threatening to file a case against the makers of the film over copyright issues.

Guzaarish - Bollywood Movie Guzaarish

These days it's become a trend of sorts for every big, eagerly awaited film to get embroiled in some controversy or the other close to its release. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hrithik Roshan- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Guzaarish too finds itself in an uncalled for controversy over a copyright issue just few days before release (Nov 19).

One will have to wait and watch if he actually ends up taking the issue to court or decides to amicably sort the issue.

Action Replayy- Akshay-Aishwarya to do a Rishi- Dimple, Amitabh-Jaya

Explains Vipul, "I feel it isn't enough to simply dress up Akshay and Aishwarya to represent the various screen pairs. Every section of the music, vocals and lyrics will represent the pair that we show Akshay and Aishwarya playing. For example if the mukhda is dedicated to Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz then I want the R.D. Burman feel of 'Jai Jai Shiv Shankar' in Aap Ki Kasam. On the other hand, if I want Akshay and Aishwarya to do a Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bachchan, I'd want Pritam to come with a suitable mood and tune, like R D. Burman's 'Bahon Mein Chale Aaon' in Anamika. If I show Akshay-Ash doing Raj-Nargis I want a Shankar-Jaikishan piece. If I show Akshay-Ash doing Dharmendra and Hema Malini then I want a Laxmikant-Pyarelal section in the composition. But if I want Akshay-Ash doing Shammi Kapoor-Sharmila Tagore then I want O.P. Nayyar to come into play."

The long-planned retro-song representing various eras of evergreen screen-jodis has now undergone a massive change. Every section of the song will now have differently mooded lyrics and tunes to go with the different looks that Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will don to represent screen pairs over the decades.

Vipul who has just got Akshay and Aishwarya's dates in July to shoot the song in Manali, has asked his exceedingly-busy composer Pritam to scrap the song that he had recorded and create an entirely new composition that would aurally represent Akshay and Aishwarya's tribute to screen pairs over the years.

Pritam had recorded a straightforward love song for the situation. That just won't do. The director has a far more ambitious tune-plan which Pritam has not quite understood as yet.

Just how Pritam would get all these diverse and seemingly-incompatible compositional style into one song is a mystery to the composer.

Action Replayy

But Vipul is confident. "Pritam is smart and he is talented. He will do it. Our film music is so rich. Not only are there composers as far-ranging as Madan Mohan and Shankar-Jaikishan, even the composer that you hear in one kind of cinema is different from what he does in another kind of cinema. How can we compare what R D. Burmam composed for Rajesh-Sharmila with what he composed for Rajesh -Mumtaz? I want all of this diversity to be part of that one song."

The Next Amitabh Bachchan Can be Ranbir Kapoor !!!!

After working with Ranbir Kapoor in two films, director Siddharth Anand feels the young actor has the potential to follow in the footsteps of megastar Amitabh Bachchan as the "complete Hindi film hero".

Amitabh Bachchan Can be Ranbir Kapoor

"Ranbir Kapoor can be the next Amitabh Bachchan"

"The day Ranbir does an action film and does it well, he has the potential to fill the void that Bachchan created," said Anand who teamed up with Ranbir for the second time for his new romantic comedy 'Anjaana Anjaani' releasing Sep 24.

The two had earlier worked together in 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' (2008). Ranbir, 27, is the son of well-known Bollywood actors Rishi and Neetu Kapoor.

"Ranbir is the perfect guy to play Anthony (a character played by Big B in 'Amar Akbar Anthony'), he can play coolie, and he can play the characters Bachchan played in his prime. There is no one else but him," Anand told us.

"He has got everything it takes to be the complete Hindi film hero that Bachchan was."

Anand, who debuted with 'Salaam Namaste' (2005), says he has tried to push the boundaries with his first film and completely smashed it with 'Anjaana Anjaani'.

Salman Akshay Saif for Sajid Nadiadwala, Latest Movie Gossip

It appears that talks of recession are passé (thank goodness for that). If production plans of Sajid Nadiadwala are any indication, Bollywood can well heave a sigh of relief. The man is all set to announce not less than three films together, a first at least for him, with confirmed reports of him having finalised the likes of Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan for his next three mega crore ventures. When this indeed materialises, it would be the first instance of top superstars being signed in one go by an independent production house.

Latest Movies Gossip

This is not all as the directors chosen to do the job also come with good credentials as far as making commercial cinema is concerned. While Siddharth Anand would be at the helm of affairs for the Saif Ali Khan starrer, Sajid Khan would be working with Akshay, Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal and Boman Irani again for the sequel to Housefull (yes, you heard it right)! There are also talks of a big director coming on board for Salman Khan's Kick. ven being announced, let aside coming on floors. Also, even if a few announcements have been made, they have been made by corporate houses that have ventured into movie making business on

Says an industry observer, "This is unprecedented. Ever since recession struck in last couple of years, there has been a huge slowdown in films ely in last 4-5 years. However, most of the independent filmmakers have been lying low with not more than one or at maximum two films being on floors."

It was this time duration which Sajid made one film at a time and got reasonable success with Kambakkht Ishq (2009) and a huge money spinner in Housefull (2010), both starring Akshay Kumar. However, now as he is ready for his another biggie Anjaana Anjaani with Ranbir Kapoor (who has gained superstar status for himself in the interim period), the news about him making three major films is poised to cause a stir in the industry.

"It is obvious that post the correction period, things have started settling down in Bollywood", continues the observer, "Filmmakers have been in a wait and watch zone. In fact a top production house like Yash Raj Films too has been going quite slow (till some time back they had at least 3 or 4 releases per year). Dharma Productions is still churning out films though majority of other high profile production houses are just lying low. While it earlier seemed that due to no new films being commissioned, 2011 would be barren, the news of Sajid bringing three films on floors is not just a huge surprise but also a reason to rejoice."

What one looks forward to now is which of the leading ladies in Bollywood would be getting ready to rejoice. While for Siddharth Anand's film with Saif, there is a toss up between Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra; Housefull sequel could be featuring Deepika Padukone again. Also, Sonakshi Sinha - now a hot favourite with Salman after Dabangg - could well find herself paired opposite him in Kick.

Though Sajid is non-committal about the leading ladies, he does confirm that the films with Akshay, Salman and Saif are definitely going on floors. "Yes, we have finalised plans for the three films. There would be further information shared about the films soon."

Latest Online Music

When asked the obvious question about his production house going big and launching as many as three biggies (the combined budget of which is said to be in the vicinity of 150 crores or even more) together, Sajid says, "There wasn't anything planned. In fact even the budget that you mention isn't finalised. As for me coming up with three films together, it just happened. If you look in the past, I didn't make a film for four years even though Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega (2000) was a hit. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) was the next release after that. It all depends upon how something good comes to me and excites me. These films did excite so I decided to get them rolling."

Tere Bin Laden - Gossip, Tere Bin Laden Movie Review

Osama Bin Laden. Just Google this name and I am sure, the results would be amongst the highest on the web. Post 9/11, terror has a new name and also a face. Now imagine Osama Bin Laden running a poultry farm and also running behind chickens. Imagine Osama Bin Laden ogling at a makeup woman. Imagine Osama Bin Laden urinating outside a television studio, but ready to hand-over his business card to the person urinating on the other side. Imagine Osama becoming a business partner in a tacky salon.

 Tere Bin Laden

Smiling, are you? That, in a nutshell, is TERE BIN LADEN, a wicked comedy with an out-of-the-box concept that offers laughter unlimited. In fact, I don't think I've flexed my facial muscles in any other film in the recent past as much as I did while watching this satirical comedy. What gives TERE BIN LADEN an edge over other comedies is that it's not the slapstick humour that keeps you entertained. This one has a story to tell as well, which also delves deeply into the minds of today's youth.
Final word? Grab a popcorn, sip your cola and get ready to laugh non-stop for the next two hours. You would love Osama Bin Laden, for a change!

TERE BIN LADEN is a tongue-in-cheek comedy about an ambitious young news reporter from Pakistan [Ali Zafar], who is desperate to migrate to the U.S. in pursuit of the American dream. His repeated attempts to immigrate are shot down as his visa is always rejected. But when things couldn't look worse, he comes across an Osama Bin Laden lookalike. Ali then hatches a scheme to produce a fake Osama video and sell it to news channels as a breakthrough scoop.

Unfortunately, there are serious ramifications as the White House gets involved and dispatches an overzealous secret agent on Ali's trail.

Although TERE BIN LADEN uses a surname that's known across the globe, there's not one serious moment in this film. Even the modus operandi of the Americans to nab Laden [which, frankly, could've turned the film serious] is so juvenile and crazy that you can't help but smile at the sequence of events.

Again, in a film that has Osama Bin Laden playing the central role, you're curious to know what its culmination will be like. Whether debutant writer-director Abhishek Sharma would settle for a realistic conclusion or an open ending. Thankfully, the film doesn't get preachy at all, nor does it get serious in those penultimate moments. It's as funny as the rest of the film and makes you wonder, kaash, the solution would be as simple in real life.

Debutant director Abhishek Sharma takes an offbeat story and gives it an interesting twist. Who would've ever thought of making a film on Osama Bin Laden and that too a comedy? This guy sure has courage to swim against the tide. Besides writing a crazy film and decorating it with madcap characters, Abhishek also does justice to the subject by handling it so well. Making people laugh is a herculean task and maintaining the tempo is, perhaps, the biggest challenge. One continues to smile from Scene A to Z and in two sequences specifically, I ended up laughing hysterically. One, when Piyush Mishra falls in the drain and lands straight on the hot seat and the second, when a bomb explodes inside the studio. Outrageously funny sequences, both!

The first-time director also deserves credit for recreating Pakistan in Hyderabad in India. Right from the look to the language to the costumes to the artefacts to the typical truck that you see in Pakistan, TERE BIN LADEN gets it right. Santosh Thundiyil's cinematography is good. Dialogue are witty and the one-liners specially evoke mirth. The review would be incomplete if I didn't highlight the invaluable contribution by its music composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. 'Ullu Da Patha' is already a rage, while 'I Love Amreeka' is foot-tapping as well.

Casting new, confident and most importantly, talented actors gives the film the right push. Ali Zafar is a star, no two opinions on that. The youngster is a package of good looks, super talent and the right screen presence. He charms his way into your heart with a super-confident performance and I strongly feel that there's no stopping him after this film. In fact, TERE BIN LADEN heralds the arrival of a new star in Bollywood.

Pradhuman Singh is a replica of Osama Bin Laden and is in terrific form in the film. In fact, the film would've fallen flat had it not been for the actor enacting this part so convincingly. Piyush Mishra is exceptional, like always. Sugandha Garg [as Zoya] is first-rate. Nikhil Ratnaparkhi [as Gul, the cameraman, Ali's partner in crime] is very good. Rahul Singh [as radio jockey Qureshi] is perfect. Barry John [as Ted] is competent. Chirag Vohra [as Lateef, who writes the lines in Arabic language] supports well. Chinmay Mandlekar [as Barry John's sidekick] is decent. Rajendra Sethi [travel agent] is natural.

On the whole, TERE BIN LADEN is a fun-ride that makes you smile constantly and even laugh outrageously in those two hours. A thorough entertainer, this film has all it takes to not only make its viewers laugh in the aisles, but also its investors laugh all the way to the bank.
